JST Mountain Drive Route

Explore Brambrüesch without barriers

An all-terrain wheelchair from the Cerebral Foundation can now be rented on Chur's local mountain, Brambrüesch.

This new service opens up the breathtaking mountain scenery and nature at Brambrüesch to people with limited mobility. It offers the opportunity to experience the splendour of Brambrüesch independently of one's own mobility.
The all-terrain wheelchair was specially developed for the challenges of rough terrain and offers maximum comfort and safety. With its robust tyres, stable frame and two powerful electric motors, it can also handle steeper and rougher paths. This opens up the possibility of exploring routes that were previously barely accessible.

From the mountain station, the Edelweiss circular route first leads along a flat stretch to the Bergbaiz and the Brambus Centre. It then continues slightly downhill on the Palusweg. The route continues along the Seznisweg to the Edelweiss hut and from there along the Alpweg back to the Brambus Centre and the mountain station of the gondola lift. The peaks above Lenzerheide mark the horizon. The way back to the starting point is along a forest road. In addition to several mountain restaurants, Brambrüesch offers a moorland trail, a children's playground and a Swiss Family Fire Place.

Bookable daily during the summer season, for a half-day rental in each case:

  • morning: 9.00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.
  • afternoon: 1.00 p.m. – 4.30 p.m.
  • CHF 20.00 / half day

The wheelchair can be rented by prior arrangement. Collection and return takes place at the Brambrüesch mountain station, along with a short instruction session on how to use the wheelchair safely. The battery allows for trips of around three to four hours. Children aged four and over can use the wheelchair with a child seat, accompanied by a parent or guardian. The child seat must be brought along.
